Alan Gray – TLM Hero

Alan Gray, originally from Essex, England, is an accountant by profession. He joined The Leprosy Mission as Director of Finance at the International Office in 1995 before transitioning to Operations Director when the Mission transitioned to a Global Fellowship structure.

Alan’s leadership position gave him the opportunity to travel extensively to various TLM countries to mentor leaders and build their capacity to deliver the work of transforming lives and defeating leprosy. Even after his retirement from TLM in 2014, Alan continued to serve on TLM’s international Board, contributing to its growth.

In the words of TLM Niger and Chad country leader, Bunmi Oluloto,

“Alan’s leadership qualities, Christ-like character, his passion for caring for those affected by leprosy, and his support for TLM’s field staff made him an outstanding leader. Alan’s desire has always been to see The Leprosy Mission maintain its focus on leprosy and to maintain its Christian identity and values. He deserves recognition as a TLM Hero for his amazing work over nearly three decades.”
