OPL Takeover: Their Own Words and Their Own Voice

The first of our takeover videos - OPL Takeover - Part 1: Meet the faces of the takeover

In September 2025, we handed our social media channels to Organisations of Persons Affected by Leprosy (OPLs). We wanted to hear their stories and the unique details that makes them who they are: from what makes them smile and their favourite foods, to what they wish more people understood about leprosy and what helped them heal.

Throughout the month we published a series of videos and a new edition of the Leprosy Insights Magazine dedicated specifically to OPLs.

The purpose of this initiative was to highlight the people and organisations that are the very centre of the fight to beat leprosy. Small, yet powerful details that make us human and shape our identities are sometimes overshadowed by labels or a diagnosis. That is why we are passing the microphone to our Leprosy Champions, so they can genuinely show their true colours and their perspectives on how we beat leprosy.

At TLM, we have the privilege of getting to know them and their powerful journeys, and we want you to do the same: to see and hear them without filter.
