Pradeep and Sarah Failbus - TLM Heroes

Pradeep and Sarah Falibus served the Mission for 39 and 29 years respectively, working in Bhutan, Nepal and India. For most of that time they were based at Anandaban Hospital in Nepal.

Throughout his time with the Mission, Pradeep was a thorough and honest hospital administrator who took the responsibility of managing resources very seriously, setting an example of good governance at the Mission. Sarah is a research technician who worked in the laboratories at the celebrated Anandaban Research Centre in Nepal.

Pradeep is from the north of India, which is as landlocked as the posts he took in Nepal and Bhutan. In 2010, he joined colleagues at a finance workshop in the south of India and Gladstone Worthington remembers a special moment: “When Pradeep came for the workshop, he went to the beach… he was so excited. It was the first time he’d seen the sea and the beach. In the north of India, Bhutan and Nepal, you’re surrounded by mountains, so you don’t see the sea at all. What a moment.”

Pradeep and Sarah are now retired and living in India, and have two grown-up daughters. They share a reputation for warmth and hospitality, and for respecting their positions as guests in every host community they served.
