Dr Hser Mu Lah - TLM Hero

A man from Myanmar stands in a doctor's coat, smiling with hands on his hips

Dr Hser started working at Mawlamyine Christian Leprosy Hospital (MCLH) after graduating in 2007 and has been working to serve persons affected by leprosy ever since.

As well as 15 years of service at MCLH, Dr Hser has performed regular tours of Myanmar with TLM so that he can treat and perform surgery for persons affected by leprosy across the country. Through this experience - and training at TLM's Naini Hospital - Dr Hser has become a specialist in reconstructive surgery and wound care.

As he says himself, "When I was younger I had wanted to become a neurosurgeon but I have instead become a surgeon for persons affected by leprosy. I thank God for the direction my life has taken."
