Pray with us

According to the founder of The Leprosy Mission, Wellesley Bailey, the Mission was
‘born and cradled in prayer’.

Prayer continues to be central to all that we do. The Leprosy Mission International office produces prayer resources that give a global overview as well as the current prayer needs for our work with leprosy-affected people, our staff, and the countries that we work in. Many other TLM offices also produce prayer resources on a quarterly or monthly basis – check our list of Members to see if there’s a TLM office near you.

ASK Prayer Diary is an annual prayer guide providing a global overview of The Leprosy Mission’s work. You can view the ASK Prayer Diary week by week below, download a PDF of the full year, or request a printed booklet. A quarterly prayer guide with updated details, needs and points of praise is also available for download.

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain. - 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV) -

Niger

monday

TLM Niger will be evaluating their country strategy this year and also developing new projects as one of their existing community empowerment projects comes to an end. Pray for wisdom and direction for the team as they seek to plan activities that will make a major and sustainable difference in people’s lives.

tuesday

TLM Niger is working with church leaders and evangelists in communities to encourage integral mission in reaching out to people affected by leprosy. Please pray that their efforts will yield positive results so that people affected by leprosy in Niger can receive spiritual and emotional care.

wednesday

Please pray for TLM Niger’s local Board as they aim to take full responsibility for all TLM operations in the country. Pray that the Board will function well and help to contribute to the success of TLM’s work in Niger.

thursday

CSL Danja is the only active leprosy referral hospital in Niger, but has been facing serious financial challenges due to a drop in funds from donors and low amounts of locally generated income. There is also the ongoing challenge of finding a hospital director.
Please pray that the Lord will turn around the fortune of the centre and find a committed director to lead it.

friday

Pray that the TLM Niger Country Office team will work together in harmony and have success in all their projects; for Yohanna as he builds the capacity of IDEA Niger leaders and follows up the activities of other partners; for Ichaya the Office Administrator in
coordination of all finance, human resources and logistics; and for Saratou as she works with the leprosy coordinators at national and regional level.

saturday/sunday

Pray for Bunmi and his family;for Bunmi as he leads the Niger team, and for his wife Loveth and their children, Blessing, Favour and Goodness. Favour will be graduating from high school in May and hoping to start university in September; pray for a smooth transition to university and grace for the family to cope with the adjustment.

TLM Niger’s vision is for people affected by leprosy to have transformed lives through access to sustainable leprosy and community services that enhance their full potential to actively participate in society. This requires not just medical leprosy services but also community development, and TLM Niger facilitates this through microcredit for income generating activities, provision of drinkable water, building of latrines, promoting hygiene in the communities, and a housing project for homeless people affected by leprosy.
Lately, TLM Niger has been building partnerships with local church leaders, disability
organisations and government institutions. TLM Niger also supports IDEA, an association of people affected by leprosy, through training in advocacy, empowerment and creating community awareness.
