Medium-term Professionals (2+ years)

TLM has many challenging opportunities for people who have at least two years post qualification experience in the following professions:

The initial contract is for 2 years, with 2 months home leave at the end. Programmes are organised on a contractual basis, and include a period of language learning, cross-cultural and leprosy training. It is also possible to extend the contract for a further two years if the project requires it.
What qualities are needed?
You will need to be:

A committed Christian in agreement with TLM’s Mission Statement with a desire to minister in the name of Jesus Christ to the needs of those people we seek to serve |

Physically and emotionally fit, able to cope with loneliness, the absence of Christian fellowship and lack of Western amenities

Good at working alongside others, able to cope with different cultures and ideas
|
|
• |
Adaptable, resourceful, and able to use your own initiative and determination
|
|
• |
Fluent in English

What preparation will I need?
We realise that working in a different country brings many different experiences, challenges and situations. We will provide a comprehensive training programme for you that will address many of these issues including:

How much will it cost?
TLM provides staff with a living allowance based on the country of assignment, in addition to providing furnished accommodation, work-related travel expenses, medical insurance and pension contributions.
What next?

Talk to your church leader and pray through the different options available to you. |
| Step 2 |
Look at our current vacancies page and see if there are any suitable positions for you to apply for. If you cannot see a suitable vacancy, please still contact the TLM International Office on jobs@tlmint.org and find out if there is a need for someone with your skills and experience. |
| Step 3 |
Fill in an initial application form, send it along with a copy of your CV to the TLM National Council office in your home country; they will contact you to discuss your application.

| Step 4 |
TLM will contact our field offices to see if a suitable placement is available. |
| Step 5 |
If a suitable placement is available, you will be invited to attend an initial interview at the National Council office in your home country. You will also be required to provide references, have a medical and psychological assessment and attend a further interview at the International Office based in London.

| Step 6 |
Once you have been accepted, we will help you prepare for your placement and provide you with training as detailed above.
