Leprosy scene removed from Aardman film

A scene from the 'The Pirates! In an Adventure with Scientists', an animation by the creators of Wallace and Gromit which is set for release in March, has been removed after Aardman Animations were inundated with complaints. A 'leper ship' was featured in a trailer for the film, which reinforced misconceptions surrounding leprosy and had the potential to increase stigma and discrimination for people affected by the disease.
